The Big Plan

ME: He and the male part of his family are throwing an intimidation campaign threatening to end the political careers (next election) of any who favor the impeachment. Scoundrel.  This smells like witness intimidation. I wrote: Two things I think, both wishful thinking as to influence: 1. Trump's hard and furious intimidation campaign seems very much like witness intimidation in a court case.  Maybe I watch too many tv court cases. 2. I am absolutely convinced, as I'm sure many of you are, that this whole thing started 5 years ago or before, backed by the Mercers, Bannon participation, and Jones and Stone. as a carefully designed plan to brainwash as much of the public and officials as possible: a)  Loud and emotional tugging, totally repetitive with every opportunity to say a word: b)  Mainline press is not to be trusted. (Which leaves XXXX as trustworthy.... there are some real duzzies out there supplying memes) c) Rallies - just as many as possible, with tho...

Ten Conservative Principles

https://kirkcenter.org/conservatism/ten-conservative-principles/ Note that this is condensed from, but yet I admit is largely plagiarized from the kirkcenter article. I find it almost impossible to greatly condense it and still retain the good meaning of it. In essence, the conservative person is simply one who finds the permanent things more pleasing than Chaos and Old Night. (Yet he knows that healthy “change is the means of our preservation.”) A people’s historic continuity of experience, says the conservative, offers a guide to policy far better than the abstract designs of coffee-house philosophers. But  there is more to this matter.. First, the conservative believes that there exists an enduring moral order.  That order is made for man, and man is made for it: human nature is a constant, and moral truths are permanent. This word   order   signifies harmony. There are two aspects or types of order: the inner order of the soul, and the outer order of the co...

Simone Michelle My dad and I have a message for southern, pickup truck-driving, camouflage-wearing, Christian, gun-owning white people...you don't have to support Trump. Somehow, there's been a conflation of identity, where people feel that to be "southern" means they must also vote republican, defend the Confederate flag, condone white supremacy, and hate democrats. But guess what - the best way to demonstrate your southern pride and patriotism is by denouncing unamerican values like bigotry and hate. Fellow southerners - what is it that you think you have in common with Donald Trump that makes you so enamored by him? Seriously. 🚫 He's not southern - he was born in New York City with a silver spoon in his mouth and he never left. 🚫 He's never worked for anything in his life - his father gave him $1 million dollars to start his business, and he still declared bankruptcy 6 times. He doesn't even pay his taxes like the rest of us, and we foot...

Trump did receive a Bay of Pigs award // More trump

Image
Note that this press release - yes on the letterhead - is promoted by the trump war room on Sept 13, 2012. In 2016, then-presidential candidate Trump received the endorsement of a group of Bay of Pigs veterans, who also presented him with a framed, hand-painted image of the Shield of Brigade 2506, which Trump described in 2020 as a "Bay of Pigs Award." In a press release published four years after the fact, the Veterans Association Brigade 2506 recast the gift as a "recognition award." https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/news-columns-blogs/fabiola-santiago/article110431447.html https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/news-columns-blogs/fabiola-santiago/article245738040.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigade_2506 https://www.laahs.com/dastardly-plot/ Then there is Stoned. Huckster Populism

My nominee for the most misleading and hazardous sentence in American politics: President Trump is a populist. Yes, he loves to sound like a populist. He draws angry lines of division between a nasty, mask-wearing, church-hating, science-worshiping elite and the good, plain folks who support him. But this man who spends a lot of time in a golf cart at his resorts for the ultrarich is about as populist as the people paying his membership dues. It has been widely and correctly observed that Trump is doing all he can to distract attention from his mishandling of the covid-19 crisis. But much of what he’s up to is consistent with a longer-term effort to mask the truth about his presidency: His policies resolutely favor the wealthy and the connected over the working class whose banner he claims to carry. He wants the media and the public to talk about anything except the main story line. He would have us argue incessantly about mask-wearing and pay no attention to reports such as Pro Public...
